New York City Buildings (2012) - Patil Makarand
With cars replacing dogcarts,
And ground slept under asphalts
They are stay still, the beautiful parts
Once illuminated in fireflies and star lights
Now the moon ashamed of city lights
Birds forgot that they are fly.
They wonder why,
the land is brighter than the sky

Are the old ones ever wonder,
what put them in a deep slumber?

One day a young man and his new bride,
rent a room for their honeymoon.
They spent a day at the balcony.
Watched all the small dots down there,
colorful as MnM chocolates in plastic bowl.
And the sun went to slumber.
That’s when  the man pulled his bride,
and kissed her deeply.
With all the passion he had,
and the stories they shared.
The bed stained by love.

One day a man and a beautiful girl,
rent a room for his lust.
They didn’t have time to enjoy the view.
She was the view.
Laying helplessly, sparkle like a new barbie,
in fake Versace mini dress.
The sun never see what they did,
as he pulled the girl,
and kissed her deeply.
With all the lust he had,
and the moan they shared
The bed stained by her tears.

One day a man with dreary eyes,
rent a room to escape.
He sat alone in the balcony,
watched cars and people down there.
And many shapes of roofs, where many life live under.
Where people hiding from rain,
as the sun hidden behind dark clouds.
And he finished his dry gin.
He jumped free fall,
with all wounds he kept alone,
and the decayed sins.
The bed remained made,
but the street stained by blood.

One day a woman and her mop,
enter a room everybody had rented.
She swept the balcony,
dust dancing on the curtain.
The sun is the only beauty she knows.
That’s when she smiled,
remembering today was the payday.
She could finally buy her son a new hot wheels.
She cleans the bed from stains.

Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961) - Directed by Blake Edwards
A slender body in Chanel dress,
painted nails groping Prada clutch bag.
A neck best friend of Tiffany & Co.
Feet only familiar with Jimmy Choo,
and sometimes Manolo Blahnik.

Drown. Drown. Drown.
in an emptiness.

A skinny body in endless digress,
filthy nails scavenging leftover food in a trash bag.
A neck always bend low.
Feet only familiar with burned ground,
and sometimes dirt thick.

Fly. Fly. Fly.
in a happiness.
